The East Sussex (U6874 Goddens Close, Northiam)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Goddens Close – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 16 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 18 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Watermill Lane – from the junction with C23 Pett Road to the junction with A259 Main Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259(T) Main Road – U6966 Workhouse Lane, Windmill Lane – U6418 Hog Hill, Pannel Lane – C23 Pett Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 and 18 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Butchers Lane – from the junction with C639 Ivyhouse Lane to the junction with A259 Rye Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259(T) Rye Road, Winchelsea Road, White Hart Hill, Winchelsea Road – A259 Rye Road – B2093 Old London Road, The Ridge – C639 Ivyhouse Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Ebenezer Road – for its full extent.

The Order commenced 23 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

York Road – from the junction with U3038 Vale Road to the junction with U3038 Beaufort Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3038 Vale Road, Strood Road, Beaufort Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 14 April 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 8 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Terminus Avenue – from the junction with B2098 Collington Avenue to the junction with U6535 Sutherland Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6535 Terminus Avenue – U6536 Westcourt Drive – U6534 Collington Avenue – B2098 Collington Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 14 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mackerel Hill – from the junction with A268 Flackley Ash to the junction with U6294 Kitchenour Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C91 Wittersham Road – C167 Blackwall Road (KCC), The Street (KCC) – B2082 Stocks Road (KCC), Rye Road (KCC) – B2082 Wittersham Road, Iden Road – C6950 Church Lane, Coldharbour Lane – A268 Rye Road, Main Street, Flackley Ash and vice versa.

The Order commences 29 May 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 29 May and 1 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

The Deals – from the junction with U6436 Wish Ward to the junction with A259 Strand Quay. Diversion via U6438 The Strand – A259 Strand Quay and vice versa.

Wish Ward – from the junction with U6437 The Deals to the junction with A268 Wish Street.

Diversion via U6438 The Strand – A259 Strand Quay, Wish Street roundabout – A268 Wish Street and vice versa. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic set out above.

The Order commences 1 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 9 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Lower Street – from the junction with A269 Bexhill Road to the junction with B2095 Hooe Road. Diversion via A269 Bexhill Road, Ninfield Road, London Road, Combe Valley Way – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A259 Little Common Road, Little Common roundabout, Barnhorn Road, Marsh Road – B2095 Top Road, Hooe Road and vice versa.

Hooe Road – from the junction with B2095 Lower Street to the junction with B2095 Top Road.

Diversion via B2095 Lower Street – A269 Bexhill Road, Ninfield Road, London Road, Combe Valley Way – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A259 Little Common Road, Little Common roundabout, Barnhorn Road, Marsh Road – B2095 Top Road, Hooe Road and vice versa. Top Road – from the junction with B2095 Hooe Road to the junction with A259 Marsh Road.
