ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
ORDER NO. MCC 149528668 Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s) The City of Manchester (Bennett Street, Ardwick Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit traffic on Bennett Street from Junction of Vaughan Street to Junction of Whixall Avenue.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Bennett Street, Hyde Road, Pottery Lane, Gorton Road. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate new electricity cable.
The duration of the works that have been in progress from 24th April 2026 has lengthened and therefore the Order will continue to 28th June 2026.
The order came into operation on the 24th April 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
