What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(WORKSOP ROAD AND WORKSOP BYPASS, WORKSOP)
(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026 (BS26-131) 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw The effects of the Order will be:

1. No Vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour in the following length of road at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw:-

a. A57 Worksop Road, Worksop - From its junction with Hardwick Top Road, Clumber Park for a distance of 106 meters in a Westerly direction.

2. No Vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour in the following length of road at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw:-

a. A57 Worksop Road, Worksop - From a point 106 meters West of its junction with Hardwick Top Road, Clumber Park for a distance of 350 meters in a Westerly direction.

3. No Vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour in the following length of road at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw:-

a. A57 Worksop Road, Worksop - From a point 50 meters West of its junction with Roebuck Way for a distance of 630 meters in a Westerly direction.

1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 07:00 hours Monday 1st June 2026
Until 23:59 hours Tuesday 9th June 2026

The Order will come into force on Monday 1st June 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable National Grid to carry out 11kv circuit alterations.
