ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND CLEARWAY) ORDER 2026

FAVERDALE, DARLINGTON

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

1. No stopping at any time (clearway); and

2. the prohibition of the driving of vehicles on

FAVERDALE

Phase 1 – From the east side of Faverdale Road junction eastwards to the west side of the access road to Lidl

It is anticipated that this will be effective between 0700hours and 1800hours for 3 days commencing 15th June and 2 days commencing 16th July.

Phase 2 – From the west side of the access road to Lidl eastwards for approximately 100 metres

It is anticipated that this will be effective between 2200hours and 0700hours for 3 nights commencing 17th June and 4 nights commencing 13th July.

An alternative route will be signed via West Auckland Road, Rotary Way, Faverdale North and vice versa.

The Order is necessary to allow construction of pedestrian refuges and road surfacing.

The maximum duration of the temporary restrictions under this Order is 18 months commencing from 15th June 2026.
