(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2026

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of footpath.

Hexham Avenue – a 220 metre length from the front of no. 68 Grantham Avenue to the front of no. 68 Kingston Avenue; a 21 metre length to the side of no. 67 Grantham Avenue and no. 68 Hexham Avenue; a 42 metre length to the front of no. 61-64 Hexham Avenue; a 31 metre length to the front of no. 53-60 Hexham Avenue and a 42 metre length to the front of no. 49-52 Hexham Avenue.

Jasper Avenue – a 42 metre length to the front of no. 61-64; a 31 metre length to the front of no. 53-60 and a 42 metre length to the front of no. 49-52.

Ivy Avenue – a 42 metre length to the front of no. 61-64; a 31 metre length to the front of no. 53-60 and a 42 metre length to the front of no. 49-52.

Grantham Avenue – a 42 metre length to the front of no. 61-64; a 31 metre length to the front of no. 53-60 and a 42 metre length to the front of no. 49-52.

Frank Avenue – a 42 metre length to the front of no. 61-64; a 31 metre length to the front of no. 53-60 and a 42 metre length to the front of no. 49-52.

Dalton Avenue – a 78 metre length to the side of All Saints Mission Church and front of no. 50-64 Dalton Avenue and a 13 metre length to the side of Seaview Primary School and no. 64 Dalton Avenue to enable gas main replacement works to be undertaken.

Throughout the period of the closure, alternative routes, where available, will be signposted on site. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on Monday 15/6/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 12 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
