What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Hambrook Street) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.103) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 15th June 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
HAMBROOK STREET
From its junction with Jubilee Terrace to Cecil Place.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate water works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 15th June 2026 to 19th June 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place from Monday to Friday between 08:00 - 18:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Jubilee Terrace, Kings Terrace, Kings Road Roundabout, Kings Road, Castle Road, Hambrook Street and Hambrook Street, Castle Road, Great Southsea Street, Kings Road, Kings Road Roundabout, Kings Terrace, Jubilee Terrace.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
