What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
Chappell Way, Sittingbourne, ME10 2QR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chappell Way, Sittingbourne from 8th June 2026, with estimated completion by 12th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Dean Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Larkfield Avenue, Dean Road, Chappell Way and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lomas Road, Bapchild, ME9 9AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lomas Road, Bapchild from 22nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 24th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Church Road and The Gatehouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, Hempstead Lane, A2 The Street, Fox Hill, Canterbury Road, Murston Road, Tonge Road, Lomas Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lower Road, Teynham, ME9 9DD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Lower Road, Teynham from 25th June 2026, with estimated completion by 1st July 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, Hempstead Lane, A2 London Road, Station Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lower Road, Tonge, ME9 9BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow fire hydrant works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Road, Tonge from 22nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 24th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Fairview, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hempstead Lane, A2 London Road, Station Road, Lower Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Riddles Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Riddles Road, Sittingbourne from 22nd June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 6, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via College Road, Homewood Avenue, Borden Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tonge Corner Road, Tonge. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Tonge Corner Road, Tonge from 10th June 2026, with estimated completion by 12th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wards Hill Road, Minster-on-sea, ME12 2LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wards Hill Road, Minster-on-sea from 22nd June 2026 with estimated completion by 23rd June 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with The Broadway and number 195, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wards Hill Road, Union Road, Waterloo Road, Minster Road, The Broadway and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
