MAIDSTONE AREA
B2163 Lower Street, Leeds, ME17 1RJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow remedial works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Lower Street, Leeds, on or after 9th June 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Leeds & Broomfield CofE School, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chalky Road, Stockbury, on or after 8th June 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with South Street Road to the junction with A249 Sittingbourne Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A249 Sittingbourne Road, Church Hill, Church Lane, Hill Green Road, South Street Road.

To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chartway Street, Kingswood, on or after 22nd June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Gravelley Bottom Road and the junction with Broomfield Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The road will be closed from the junction with White Hill Road to the junction with Yelsted Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 weekday only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow overhead fibre cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Water Lane, Bearsted, on or after 26th June 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with The Street/Roundwell, for a distance approximately 2025 metres in a North direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Water Lane, Pilgrims Way, Thurnham Lane, Ware Street, The Green, The Street and vice versa.
