What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDER

On 25 May 2026, Angus Council made The Angus Council (Montrose Music Festival) (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2026, under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, for the purposes of public safety or convenience. The effect of the Order is to: (1) prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on High Street, Montrose over the entire length of the on-street car parking area situated directly north of the Town House; (2) prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on High Street, Montrose from its junction with Hume Street southwards for a distance of 95 metres or thereby and northwards for a distance of 77 metres or thereby; (3) prohibit the driving of vehicles, except taxis, on Hume Street, Montrose for its entire length; The prohibitions and restriction at (1-4) above will be effective between 07:00 and 07:00pm on 30 May 2026. (5) Temporary suspend the use of the taxi stances in Hume Street, Montrose between 7:00 am and 7:00pm and (6) prohibit temporarily the waiting of vehicles, except taxis, between 7.00am and 7.00pm on High Street (west side) from a point 10 metres south of its junction with John Street southwards for a distance of 30 metres or thereby.
