What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 25/05/2026, Angus Council made The Angus Council (East Mill Road, Brechin) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so as to permit mains gas pipe replacement works. The Order will come into force on 01/06/26, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of seven months. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to (a) prohibit all vehicular traffic from waiting and loading in or on Montrose Street, Brechin (A935) and East Mill Road, Brechin, and (b) prohibit the driving of vehicles on East Mill Road, Brechin for its entire length and on A935 Montrose to Brechin (Montrose Street) from it junction with Drumachlie Road eastwards for a distance of 330m or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via River Street, (A933), Witchden Road (A933) and Montrose Street (A935) and via A935 Brechin - Montrose, A92 Arbroath - Montrose, A934 Montrose – Forfar, A933 Arbroath – Brechin (River Street/Witchden Road) and A935 Brechin - Montrose (Montrose Street).
