Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA



A28 Canterbury Road & A2070 Willesborough Road, Kennington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow carriageway strengthening works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road & A2070 Willesborough Road, Kennington from 9th June 2026 with estimated completion by 19th June 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, or until the works have been completed.

A28 Canterbury Road will be closed between the junctions with The Ridge and The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for A28 Canterbury Road is via A28 Canterbury Road, Ashford Road, A252 Maidstone Road, The Street, Canterbury Road, A251 Buck Street, Faversham Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.

A2070 Willesborough Road will be closed between the junctions with A28 Canterbury Road and George Williams Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for A2070 Willesborough Road is via A28 Canterbury Road, George Williams Way and vice versa.



A292 Maidstone Road, Ashford.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow cover and frame replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A292 Maidstone Road, Ashford from 20:00 hours on 8th June 2026, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 9th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed to the rear of 3 Barrow Hill Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout and Warren Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Appledore Road, Woodchurch, TN26 3TQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Appledore Road, Woodchurch from 8th June 2026, with estimated completion by 9th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Paddocks, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Appledore Road, B2067 Kenardington Road, Warehorne Road, Woodchurch Road, Bench Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Bank Road, Aldington, TN25 7DH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bank Road, Aldington from 23rd June 2026, with estimated completion by 26th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Cottage, Roman Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Roman Road, Bank Road, Coopers Lane, Colliers Hill, Chequer Tree Farm Road, Frith Road, Roman Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Charing Heath Road, Charing.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charing Heath Road, Charing from 22nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 27th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Four Acres heading 50m to the farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, Station Road, A20 Ashford Road, Maidstone Road, Forstal Road, Lenham Forstal Road, Lenham Heath Road, Church Hill, Egerton Road, Charing Heath Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Lane, Shadoxhurst.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Shadoxhurst from 22nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 30th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Jenkey Farm and Red House Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodchurch Road, Hornash Lane, Hamstreet Road and Birchett Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Halden Lane, Rolvenden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Halden Lane, Rolvenden from 10th June 2026, with estimated completion by 12th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Gatefield Road and Halden Lane Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Halden Lane, Stepneyford Lane, B2086 Benenden Road, Regent Street, A28 High Street, Halden Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Lossenham Lane, Newenden, TN18 5QB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lossenham Lane, Newenden from 10th June 2026 with estimated completion by 11th June 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite St Nicholas By Rother, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



New Road, Egerton, TN27 9DJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New Road, Egerton from 23rd June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Rock Hill Road heading southbound for approximately 210m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rock Hill Road, Mundy Bois Road, C86 Mundy Bois Road Junction With C146 Pinnock Road To Junction With Green Hill Lane, The Pinnock, Smarden Road, Forge Hill, Egerton Road, New Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Norton Lane, Bethersden, TN26 3AJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Norton Lane, Bethersden from 26th June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Pluckley Road and Wissenden Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, Mill Road, The Street, Church Hill, St Margarets Place, Wissenden Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Roman Road, Aldington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Roman Road, Aldington from 10th June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Goldwell Lane and Church Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Roman Road, B2067 Knoll Hill, Boat Lane, New Road Hill, Forge Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Swain Road, Tenterden, TN30 6PJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swain Road, Tenterden from 22nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 24th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Timberdyne, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swain Road, A28 Ashford Road, Silver Hill, B2080 Beacon Oak Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Tuesnoad Lane, Bethersden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tuesnoad Lane, Bethersden from 24th June 2026 with estimated completion by 25th June 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 300m east of number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tuesnoad Lane, Wissenden Green, Wissenden Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



White Hill, Boughton Aluph.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow wire transfer works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of White Hill, Boughton Aluph from 11th June 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Stour View Cottage and the junction with A28 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via White Hill, A28 Canterbury Road, Ashford Road, A252 Canterbury Road, Maidstone Road, The Street, Canterbury Road, A251 Buck Street, White Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Wye Road, Boughton Aluph, TN25 4JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wye Road, Boughton Aluph from 13th June 2026, with estimated completion by 14th June 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Pilgrims Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A251 Canterbury Road, Faversham Road, Buck Street, A252 Canterbury Road, The Street, A28 Ashford Road, Canterbury Road, Wye Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Various Roads, Smarden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2026

To allow new water mains works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Smarden from 22nd June 2026, with estimated completion by 5th July 2026, or until the works have been completed.

Mill Lane will be closed between the junction with Pluckley Road and Millview Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for traffic (excluding HGV’s) is via Mill Lane, Water Lane, The Street and Pluckley Road.

The alternative route for HGV’s is via Bell Lane and The Pinnock.

No heavy goods vehicles exceeding 7.5T will be able to use Water Lane, Pluckley Road and Lewd Lane, except for access only.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
