What is happening?

(West Street, Coggeshall) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of West Street, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 40m south west of its junction with Bridge Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010742317/2 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National) Limited.

An alternative route is available via Market Hill, Church Street, Church Green, Colne Road, A120 and vice versa (with access only into West Street).

The Order came into effect on 22nd May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
