Essex - Temporary Road Closures Due To Spine Cabling Works
What is happening?

(Primrose Hill, Wrabness/Rectory Road, Wrabness & Primrose Lane, Ramsey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Primrose Hill, Wrabness/Rectory Road, Wrabness, in the District of Tendring, from the junction with Wrabness Road for a distance of approximately 450m in a north westerly, north easterly then north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Primrose Lane, Ramsey, in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Wrabness Road for a distance of approximately 850m in a southerly then south easterly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 22nd June 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311003WRGG75H, BC311004WRGG75H & BC311005WGRGG75H – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while spine cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
Alternative routes are available via:
1. B1352, Wheatsheaf Lane, Ash Street, Church Road, Station Road, Rectory Road and vice versa.
2. B1352, A120, Primrose Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 5th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
