What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Cemetery Road, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Cemetery Road, which will be closed from the gable end of property No.46 for a distance of 65 metres in an easterly direction. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Victoria Road, Holly Lane, West Park Road, St Pauls Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed on 07/06/2026 (9:30am to 3:30pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for carriageway repairs in the vicinity of an access chamber by Severn Trent Water.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Great Barr Interchange, Great Barr) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Great Barr Interchange, which will be closed from west of its junction with the Birmingham Road slip road travelling south to the east of the Birmingham Road slip road travelling north. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via via Birmingham Road & Queslett Road. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 11/06/2026, effective from 10/06/2026 (9pm-6am). Purpose – to facilitate access for survey works by mway Comms. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Edgbaston Road, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Edgbaston Road, which will be closed from its junction with High Street to the dividing line of property No’s 88 & 89. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Waterloo Road, High Street & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 12/06/2026, effective from 08/06/2026 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Giles Road, Hall Street & Vicarage Street, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Giles Road, which will be closed from the northern boundary of property No.36 to its junction with Vicarage Street (08/06/2026-28/06/2026). Hall Street will also be closed from its junction with Vicarage Street to its junction with Crosswells Road. Vicarage Street will be closed from its junction with Hall Street to its junction with Vicarage Road (29/06/2026-29/07/2026). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will be signed for the Giles Road closure via Vicarage Street, Vicarage Road & vice versa. A traffic diversion route will be signed for the Hall Street & Vicarage Street closure via Crosswells Road, Vicarage Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 29/07/2026, effective from 08/06/2026 (24hrs).
