What is happening?

THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON

(BLACKTHORN ROAD) (ROAD CLOSURE) (018/67)

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.

  1. The effect of the Order will be to close Blackthorn Road, from its junction with Merryoak Road to 84 Blackthorn Road, between the hours of 08:00 – 16:00.
  2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are carriageway repairs.
  3. The alternative route will be via Merryoak Green, Acacia Road, Magnolia Road, Spring Road.
  4. The Order will come into force on 19th June 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete after 1 day.
