North Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Sewer Lining Works

Somerset Council Parish of Wookey Temporary Closure of North Road

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: North Road - from the junction with High Street, north-eastwards for a total distance of 49 metres. This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer lining works.

The Order becomes effective on 12th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 19th June 2026 and last until 19th June 2026 between the hours of 08:00 - 20:00 for a total of 12 hours. a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
