NEW/AMENDED TAXI RANKS, DISABLED BAYS, AND SOLO MOTORCYCLE BAYS & REMOVAL OF DIAGONAL ROAD CLOSURE – DINGWALL ROAD & LANSDOWNE ROAD, CROYDON

The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting)

and (Free Parking Places) (No.11) Order 2026

The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No.11) Order 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 26 May 2026 made the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce the following measures in Lansdowne Road and Dingwall Road as part of a Town Centre regeneration programme:-

(a) To relocate the existing taxi rank and two disabled bays on the south side of Lansdowne Road (east) 25 metres east of their current position to accommodate a new parallel crossing on Lansdowne Road (east). The taxi rank and adjacent disabled bays would be located 19.7 metres east of a point opposite the south-western wall of Ruskin Square car park.

(b) To introduce a new 19 metre length solo motorcycle bay on the south-west side of Dingwall Road (south), outside AMP House, located 0.5 metres north of the common boundary of No. 1 Dingwall Road and No. 95 George Street.

(c) To amend existing restrictions to accommodate the above proposals.

(d) To remove the diagonal road closure to the Lansdowne Road / Dingwall Road roundabout.

3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 28 May 2026, and of all associated Orders, can be inspected between 10am and 6pm, at Croydon Central Library, Katharine Street, CR9 1ET for a period of six weeks from the date the Orders were made. Alternatively, all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

REMOVAL OF WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

BLACKHORSE LANE BRIDGE, CROYDON, EDERLINE AVENUE, NORBURY, HIGHER DRIVE BRIDGE, PURLEY, AND LUCERNE ROAD, THORNTON HEATH THE CROYDON (TRAFFIC MOVEMENT) (NO. 3)
TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Croydon on 26 May 2026 made the abovementioned Order under Section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to revoke the prohibition on vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight from proceeding on Blackhorse Lane Bridge, Croydon, Ederline Avenue, Norbury (between Dalmeny Avenue and Norbury Crescent), and Higher Drive Bridge, Purley. It would also revoke the prohibition on vehicles exceeding 3 tonnes maximum gross weight from proceeding in Lucerne Road, Thornton Heath (between Zermatt Road and Boswell Road).

3. Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 29 May 2026, and of all associated Orders, can be inspected between 10am and 6pm, at Croydon Central Library, Katharine Street, CR9 1ET for a period of six weeks from the date the Orders were made. Alternatively, all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk
