What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
GRAVESHAM AREA
Battle Street, Cobham, DA12 3DB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Battle Street, Cobham, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 3.
There is no diversion route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.
Brandon Street, Gravesend, DA11 0PL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brandon Street, Gravesend, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 34.
The alternative route is via Darnley Street, Darnley Road and Arthur Street.
Cycle Track From Wrotham Road To Wrotham Road, Gravesend, DA11 7PF (CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Scotia Gas Networks works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on part of Cycle Track From Wrotham Road To Wrotham Road, Gravesend, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.
The cycle lane will be suspended between numbers 398 and 418.
Dickens Road, Gravesend, DA12 2HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dickens Road, Gravesend, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 13.
The alternative route is via Dickens Road, A226 Rochester Road, Ingoldsby Road, Shamrock Road and vice versa.
Foxendown Lane, Meopham, DA13 0BP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foxendown Lane, Meopham, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Alandale.
The alternative route is via Camer Park Road, Green Lane, A227 Wrotham Road, The Street and vice versa.
Ivy Close, Gravesend, DA12 5JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of a new electricity supply for a customer, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ivy Close, Gravesend, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 33A.
There is no alternative route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.
Leywood Road, Meopham, DA13 0UD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the replacement of one existing telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Leywood Road, Meopham, on or after 17th June 2026 for up to 2 days between 08.00hrs and 17.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approx. 280m northeast from White Horse Lane junction.
The alternative route is via Leywood Road, Strawberry Hill, Dean Road, Oakenden Road, Foxendown Lane, The Street, A227 Wrotham Road/Gravesend Road, Harvel Road and vice versa.
Milton Avenue, Gravesend, DA12 1NR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Milton Avenue, Gravesend, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside numbers 3 to 5.
The alternative route is via B261 Old Road East, Pine Avenue, Milton Hall Road, Milton Avenue and vice versa.
Railway Street, Northfleet, DA11 9DU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Railway Street, Northfleet, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1.
There is no alternative route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.
Shrubbery Road, Gravesend, DA12 1LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Shrubbery Road, Gravesend, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 32.
The alternative route is via Shrubbery Road, Clarence Place, Parrock Road, B261 Echo Square/Old Road East, Windmill Street, Leith Park Road, Sandy Bank Road, Hillside Terrace, South Hill Road and vice versa.
WHITE HORSE LANE, HARVEL ROAD, ERSKINE ROAD, COMMORITY ROAD & DAVID STREET MEOPHAM (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Harvel 5 Mile Running Race - 6 June 2026
Kent County Council has made an Order for the safety of the public whilst an event is being held on the highway to temporarily prohibit the use of Vehicles on:-
White Horse Lane (from Dean Lane to Harvel Road)
Harvel Road (from White House Road to Erskine Road)
Erskine Road (from Harvel Road to Commority Road)
Commority Road (whole length)
David Street (from Harvel Lane to Heron Hill Lane)
The Order will be effective when required on Saturday 6 June 2026 between 12.00hrs and 16.00hrs. The restrictions/prohibitions specified in this notice will apply in the direction and only at such times as indicated by traffic signs in operation. Nothing in the Order will apply to:
• Any Vehicle being used for Ambulance purposes, Coastguard/RNLI, Fire Brigade or Police services.
• Anything done by a Statutory Undertaker vehicle in connection with an emergency repair.
• Anything done with the permission or at the direction of Event Organisers or a Police Constable in Uniform.
