LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(HARTFIELD CRESCENT AND HARTFIELD ROAD, SW19)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate redevelopment works at No. 1 Hartfield Road (Wimbledon Bridge House and Car Park) and associated crane works, they have made an Order under sections 14(1) and 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Hartfield Crescent and Hartfield Road.
2. During the redevelopment works, no person will:-
(a) proceed on the north-western footway of Hartfield Crescent, from a point 6 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Hartfield Road, south-westward for a distance of 54 metres;
(b) proceed on the footway in Hartfield Road which lies adjacent to Wimbledon Bridge House, from the north-western kerb-line of Hartfield Crescent, north-westward and then north-eastward for a distance of 70 metres;
(c) cause any vehicle to enter or proceed in:-
(i) Hartfield Crescent, the near side lane of the two north-eastbound lanes adjacent to No. 1 Hartfield Road;
(ii) cause any vehicle to enter or proceed in the Hartfield Road bus lane adjacent to No. 1 Hartfield Road.
3. During the crane works:-
(a) no person will cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Hartfield Crescent, from its junction with Hartfield Road south-westward for a distance of 56 metres;
(b) no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the street or length of street specified in:-
(i) paragraph 3(a) above;
(ii) any length of the north-west side of Hartfield Crescent which is not a marked parking place;
(c) the parking places in Hartfield Crescent, the north-west side, opposite Nos. 12 to 16 Hartfield Crescent will be suspended;
(d) the one-way working in Hartfield Crescent will be suspended;
(e) the width restriction in Dundonald Road will be suspended.
4. The restrictions and suspensions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closures should proceed using one or more of the following roads:- Dundonald Road, Fairlawn Road, Wilton Crescent, Kingston Road and Hartfield Road.
6. Pedestrians affected by the footway closures should proceed using the footway opposite as directed by signage.
7. Nothing in the Order will apply: -
(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions;
(d) so as to restrict pedestrian access to the development site;
(e) so as to restrict vehicular access to Cascades Court insofar as access is reasonably practicable
8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
9. The Order will come into operation on Friday 29th May 2026 and the Council is satisfied that the works will take more than 18 months to complete. Hartfield Crescent is currently anticipated to be closed for crane works on the weekends of the 15th/16th August 2026 and 8th/9th January 2028. The Order will remain in force until such time as all the relevant works are completed, whereupon it will be revoked by a further Order made by the Council.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(COMMONSIDE EAST, CR4)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate gas mains replacement works in Commonside East, CR4, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
2. During the works no person would:-
(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Commonside East, the south to north arm opposite No. 297 Commonside East, from a point 4 metres south of the south-western boundary of No. 297 Commonside East, south westward for a distance of 34 metres; or
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in the length of Commonside East specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
3. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.
5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed using Commonside East (northern arm), Manor Road and Commonside East (southern arm) or vice versa.
6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
7. The Order would come into force on Monday 22 June 2026 and it is expected that the works would be completed by Wednesday 15 July 2026. However, the Order would remain in force for a period of 3 months should further works be required.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(STUART ROAD, WIMBLEDON)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate wet well inspections in Stuart Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
2. During the works no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:-
(a) enter or proceed in Stuart Road, from its junction with Durnsford Road to the common boundary of Nos. 66 and 68 Stuart Road; or
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in the length of Stuart Road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
3. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Nothing in the Order would apply to:-
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed using Durnsford Road, Stroud Road and Melrose Avenue or vice versa.
6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
7. The Order would come into force on Friday 19 June 2026 and the works would be carried out between the hours of 08.00 and 17.00 that day. However, the Order would remain in force for a period of 3 months should further works be required.
