What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

A258 Deal Road, Swingate (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow solar works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 30MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of A258 Deal Road, Swingate, on or after 3rd June 2026 for until the works have been completed.

The road will have a mandatory 30MPH speed limit imposed at the junction of The Lane for approximately 100m in each direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.



Cranleigh Drive, Whitfield (PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit parking on part of Cranleigh Drive, Whitfield, on or after 21st June 2026 for up to 550 days or until the works have been completed.

Cranleigh Drive will have a prohibition of parking imposed between numbers 104 and number 77, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.



Duke Street, Deal, CT14 6TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Duke Street, Deal, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 21. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Street, St Georges Road, High Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Lower Road, Temple Ewell, CT16 3EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Road, Temple Ewell, on or after 17th June 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 23:50 and 04:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, High Street, London Road, Alkham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Lydden Hill, Denton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lydden Hill, Denton, on or after 18th June 2026 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of A2 Dover Road and Wickham Bushes Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 Dover Road, A256 Whitfield Hill, London Road, Canterbury Road, Lydden Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



New Street, Sandwich, CT13 9BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of New Street, Sandwich, on or after 1st June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

Restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

New Street will be closed outside number 49.

The one-way Order will be suspended between the junctions of Galliard Street and No Name Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via New Street, Dover Road, St Barts Road, Woodnesborough Road, Moat Sole, Cattle Market, Delf Street, No Name Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Ratling Road, Aylesham, CT3 3JE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ratling Road, Aylesham, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of B2046 Adisham Road and Cornwallis Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2046 Adisham Road, Spinney Lane, Ackholt Road, Ratling Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Street, Northbourne, CT14 0LN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Northbourne, on or after 16th June 2026 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Yew Tree Cottage, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Deal Road, Willow Road, Northbourne Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Vale Road, Sutton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Vale Road, Sutton, on or after 3rd June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed near the entrance to Sutton Vale Holiday Park, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vale Road, Sutton Road, Pommeus Lane, Wingleton Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Westcourt Lane, Shepherdswell, CT15 7QA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Westcourt Lane, Shepherdswell, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the entrance of Westcourt Farm to the junction of Westcourt Downs, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westcourt Lane, Coxhill, Eythorne Road, Barfrestone Road, Long Lane, Westcourt Downs and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Woodnesborough Road, Sandwich, CT13 0BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Woodnesborough Road, Sandwich, on or after 15th June 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 133, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Barts Road, Dover Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Road, Sandwich Road, Statenborough Lane, Foxborough Hill, Fir Tree Hill, The Street, Sandwich Road, Woodnesborough Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
