THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(VARIOUS STREETS – WHITEFIELD)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Whitefield

Roch Crescent, Whalley Road, Tintern Avenue, Ripon Avenue, Sandown Road, Apollo Avenue, Colinwood Close, Ventor Avenue, Langdale Drive, Borrowdale Drive, Ennerdale Drive, Wastdale Avenue, Eskdale Close, Ripon Close, Cartmel Close & Baguley Drive

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway re-surfacing works (surface dressing programme)

Alternative routes will be via local diversions which will be in place as and when required by the works.

The Order comes into operation on 01/06/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 5 weeks.
