ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(GIGG LANE, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Gigg Lane, Bury – between Manchester Road & Heaton Fold

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate highway improvement works and delivery of the Fishpool and Pimhole Bee Active Travel Scheme

The alternate route will be via Manchester Road, Parkhills Road, Market Street & vice versa

The Order comes into operation on 01/06/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 4 weeks.

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(MURRAY ROAD, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Murray Road, Bury – from its junction with Angouleme Way to a point outside the Home Bargains store

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate resurfacing and new raised crossing works

There will be no alternate route as it is a no through route

The proposed Order will come into operation on 16/06/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 8 weeks (non-market days only).

(HOLCOMBE ROAD, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Holcombe Road, Bury – from outside property No.329 to property No.335

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate telecoms works

The alternate route will be via Bolton Road West, Bolton Road, Ramsbottom Road, Tottington Road, Chapel Street, Holcombe Road & vice versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on 14/06/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 day.
