SECTION 14 (1) THE BOLTON (PUBLIC FOOTPATHS WESTHOUGHTON

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (NO.) ORDER 2026

The Borough Council of Bolton intends to make an Order not less than seven days from the date of this Notice.

The effect will be operative from 11th June 2026, which will prohibit all pedestrian traffic from using the following public footpaths.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 047 commencing from point A at grid reference SD 64297 07775 in a generally south-southwest direction to point B at grid reference SD 64140 07479; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1 WeS042/043/044/045/046/047/03 1/032/033 over a total distance of approximately 337 metres.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 046 commencing from point B at grid reference SD 64140 07479 in a generally southwest direction to point C at grid reference SD 64035 07386; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1 WeS042/043/044/045/046/047/03 1/032/033 over a total distance of approximately 141 metres.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 031 commencing from point D at grid reference SD 63849 07522 in a generally southeast then east-southeast direction to point C at grid reference SD 64035 07386; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1 WeS042/04 3/044/045/046/047/031/032/033 over a total distance of approximately 234 metres.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 032 commencing from point C at grid reference SD 64035 07386 in a generally east-southeast direction to point E at grid reference SD 64155 07296; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1 WeS042/04 3/044/045/046/047/031/032/033 over a total distance of approximately 154 metres.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 042 commencing from point F at grid reference SD 64410 07033 in a generally north-northeast direction to point G on Great Bank Road at grid reference SD 64600 07470; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1 WeS042/043/044/045/046/047/03 1/032/033 over a total distance of approximately 263 metres.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 043 commencing from Chorley Road point H at grid reference SD 64616 07556 in a generally south-southwest direction to Wimberry Hill Road point I at grid reference SD 64596 07468; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1WeS042/043/044/045/046/047/031/032/0 33 over a total distance of approximately 92 metres.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 044 commencing from Wimberry Hill Road point I at grid reference SD 64596 07468 in a generally west northwest then west southwest direction to point B at grid reference SD 64140 07479; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1WeS042/043/044/045/046/047/031/032 /033 over a total distance of approximately 483 metres.

Alternative route will be made available, details of which will be published on site.

The Order is necessary to enable construction of highway infrastructure and will continue for a period of 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
