HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF POTTERS CROUCH LANE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Potters Crouch Lane, St Albans from its junction with Ragged Hall Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1110m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Ragged Hall Lane, B4630 Watford Road, King Harry Lane, A4147 Hemel Hempstead Road, Bedmond Lane and Potters Crouch Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE ROAD LEADING TO NOS.1-11 LOWER LUTON ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the road leading to Nos.1-11 Lower Luton Road, Harpenden from its junction with B651 Lower Luton Road south westwards and south eastwards for its entire length (“the Road”).

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 15 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of A1081 (Chequer Street/St Peters Street), St Albans from its junction with A5183 High Street north eastwards to its junction with the A4147 Catherine Street/A1057 Hatfield Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 497m.

An alternative route will be via A5183 (High Street/Verulam Road/Folly Lane/Redbourn Road), Batchwood Drive and A1081 (Harpenden Road/St Peters Street).

2. that length of A4147 (Catherine Street/Folly Lane), St Albans from its junction with the A1081 St Peters Street/A1057 Hatfield Road roundabout north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with A5183 Folly Lane, a distance of approximately 998m.

An alternative route will be via A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street) and A5183 (High Street/Verulam Road/Folly Lane).

3. that length of A1081 St Peters Street, St Albans from its junction with the A4147 Catherine Street/A1057 Hatfield Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with B651 Stonecross, a distance of approximately 374m.

An alternative route will be via A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street), A5183 (High Street/Verulam Road/Folly Lane/Redbourn Road), Batchwood Drive and A1081 (Harpenden Road/St Peters Street).

4. that length of A1057 Hatfield Road, St Albans from its junction with the A4147 Catherine Street/A1081 St Peters Street roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Clarence Road, a distance of approximately 963m.

An alternative route will be via A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street/London Road), A414 North Orbital Road, A1001 Comet Way and A1057 (St Albans Road West/Hatfield Road).

5. the A4147 Catherine Street/A1057 Hatfield Road roundabout, St Albans from its junction with A1081 St Peter Street clockwise for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street/London Road), A414 North Orbital Road, A1001 Comet Way and A1057 (St Albans Road West/Hatfield Road)

or via A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street), A5183 (High Street/Verulam Road/Folly Lane/Redbourn Road), Batchwood Drive and A1081 (Harpenden Road/St Peters Street).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 16 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 15 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpaths”):-

1. the footpath situated between No.161 Westfields and No.24 Dubrae Close, St Albans from a point in line with the north eastern boundary of No.161 Westfields south westwards for a distance of approximately 123m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. the footpath situated on the north west side of Nos.1a-25 Dubrae Close, St Albans from a point in line with the north eastern boundary of No.14 Deva Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 133m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

The Order will come into effect from 15 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Ambrose Lane, Harpenden from its junction with Cooters End Lane south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Hollybush Lane, a distance of approximately 976m.

An alternative route will be via Cooters End Lane, A1081 Luton Road and Hollybush Lane

or via Hollybush Lane, Clarence Road, A1081 Luton Road and Cooters End Lane.

2. that length of Bloomfield Road, Wheathampstead from its junction with Ambrose Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.

An alternative route will be via Ambrose Lane, Hollybush Lane, Clarence Road, A1081 Luton Road and Bloomfield Road

or via Ambrose Lane, A1081 Luton Road and Bloomfield Road.

3. that length of Hillside Road, Wheathampstead from its junction with Ambrose Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.

An alternative route will be via Ambrose Lane, Hollybush Lane, Clarence Road, A1081 Luton Road and Hillside Road

or via Ambrose Lane, A1081 Luton Road and Hillside Road.

4. that length of Lambourn Gardens, Wheathampstead from its junction with Ambrose Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because gas main works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 15 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 8 weeks to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON DOWN GREEN LANE/AMWELL LANE, WHEATHAMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Down Green Lane/Amwell Lane, Wheathampstead from its junction with Ferrers Lane north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Brewhouse Hill, a distance of approximately 1580m (“the length of Roads”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Ferrers Lane, B651 (Wheathampstead Road/The Hill), Butterfield Road and Brewhouse Hill.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Roads, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 1 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated between No.1 and No.2 Kitchener Close, St Albans from a point 14m north east of its junction with Kitchener Close north eastwards for a distance of approximately 26m (“the Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footpath situated between No.1 and No.2 Kitchener Close, the footway situated on the north east side of Kitchener Close, the footway situated on the south east side of Gordon Close and the footpath situated between No.1 and No.2 Kitchener Close.

1. that length of Bedford Road, St Albans from its junction with Inkerman Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 21m.

An alternative route will be via Inkerman Road, Alexandra Road, B6426 Alma Road and Bedford Road.

2. that length of Inkerman Road, St Albans from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.9 Inkerman Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 19m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

An alternative route will be via Gurney Court Road, Marshalswick Lane and Marshals Drive.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 3 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
