(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Noggarth Road, Fence from outside 1 Hoarstone Cote on Noggarth Road for approximately 32 metres after the junction to Heights Lane south westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0930 hours until 1530 on Wednesday 1st June 2026 until Friday 12th June 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Wheatley Lane Road – Coockstool Lane – Barrowford Road – Scotland Road – Gisburn Road – Pasture Lane – Blacko Bar Road – Jinny Lane – Newchurch – Spenbrook Road – Heights Lane and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the excavation of 76 metres of duct in the carriageway and verge to connect to existing BT network to be carried out.
