THE BOROUGH OF REIGATE AND BANSTEAD (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that following the public consultation (12th March 2026 - 24th April 2026), Reigate & Banstead Borough Council made the Borough of Reigate and Banstead (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2026 (“the 2026 Order”) on 18 May 2026, in exercise of its powers under Sections 32 and 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”), the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 (“SI 1996/2489”) and the Road Traffic Act 1991 as amended by the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers. The general nature and effect of the 2026 Order is to maintain the provisions of the Borough of Reigate and Banstead (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2025 and to:-
a) increase Monday to Saturday Pay and Display prices (as set out in table 1 below);
b) increase season ticket & contract space prices (as set out in table 1 below);
c) removal of Sunday and Bank Holiday Pay and Display prices (as set out in table 1 below);
d) revoke the Reigate and Banstead (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2025.

Implementation date: The Borough of Reigate and Banstead (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2026 will come into force on 1 June 2026.
Validity: If any person wishes to question the validity of the 2026 Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act as amended or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the 2026 Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
Further details: Copies of the 2026 Order and other applicable documents may be inspected at the Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Offices, Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 0SH on Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 10 am and 4.00 pm.
