Definitive Map Modification Order 2026
On 30th April 2026 WSCC confirmed the above-named Order unopposed and without modification under Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and which takes effect on that date.
The effect of the order, confirmed as made, is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for Chanctonbury by the addition of a footpath commencing where footpath 2563/1 intersects Springlands Lane, (grid reference 520877, 115426) heading in a south easterly direction along Springlands Lane past Springlands Barn for a distance of approximately 80M until reaching footpath 2566_1 along Windmill Lane (grid reference, 520948,115395) with a minimum width of 2.3M.
A copy of the Order and the Order Plan may be seen free of charge at Legal Services, WSCC, County Hall, Chichester, PO19 1RQ and at the Offices of Horsham District Council.
A copy of the Order and Plan may be purchased for £8.00 from Legal Services, County Hall.
If any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 of the Act have not been complied with in relation to it, they may, under paragraph 12 (i) of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 28th May 2026, make an application to the High Court.
