What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (PARKSIDE ROAD, KENDAL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of Parkside Road, Kendal, from its junction with Larch Grove, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 110 metres.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available;
Eastbound Traffic Alternative Route: via Castle Rise, Parkside Road, Lound Road (A65), Kirkland (A6), Highgate, Lowther Street, New Road (A65), Blackhall Road (A6), Sandes Avenue, Station Road, Longpool, Shap Road, Appleby Road (A685), Sandylands Road, Sedbergh Road (A684), Castle Green Lane and Parkside Road.
Westbound Traffic Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Parkside Road, Castle Green Lane (A684), Sedbergh Road, Castle Street, Ann Street, Wildman Street, A65, Stramongate, New Road, Aynam Road, Lound Road, Parkside Road and Castle Rise.

The Order will come into operation on 4th June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
