PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, S.119
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981, SECTION 53A(2)
The Borough of Blackburn with Darwen FP 17 Blackburn (part) Public Path Diversion Order 2025
On 28th May 2026 Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 (“the Act”) and section 53(A)(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath as described in Schedule 1 to this Notice onto the route described in Schedule 2 and as shown on the Order Map.
A copy of the Order and Map may be examined at the Public Notice Boards outside Blackburn Town Hall and Darwen Town Hall free of charge. Copies of the Order may be purchased at the price of 50p, please make a request to Public.RightofWay@blackburn.gov.uk
The order comes into force following 42 days from the date of this notice, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date of this notice, make an application to the High Court.

SCHEDULE 1 – LINE OF EXISTING ROUTE
Footpath 17 Blackburn
From Lammack Road between Seven Acre brook and property no. 168 Lammack Road at Point A (SD 67221 30351) on the attached plan heading in a generally north easterly direction to Point B (SD 67258 30369) then continuing in a north easterly direction to join Public Footpath 19 Blackburn at Point D (SD 67486 30537).
SCHEDULE 2 – LINE OF DIVERSIONARY ROUTE
Footpath 17 Blackburn
A path from Lammack Road along the southern side of Seven Acre brook at Point C (SD 67219 30357) on the attached plan heading in a generally north easterly direction to Point B (SD 67258 30369) and then continuing in a north easterly direction to join Public Footpath 19 Blackburn at Point D (SD 67486 30537).
