(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN HITCHIN) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Wymondley Road, Hitchin from its junction with Chiltern Road south eastwards to its junction with Girons Close, a distance of approximately 362m.
An alternative route will be via Wymondley Road, Highbury Road, Whitehill Road, A602 Stevenage Road, Stevenage Road, Arch Road, Hitchin Road and Wymondley Road or via Wymondley Road, Hitchin Road, Arch Road, Stevenage Road, A602 Stevenage Road, Whitehill Road, Hollow Lane and Wymondley Road.
2. that length of Wymondley Close, Hitchin from its junction with Wymondley Road north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
3. that length of Sorrel Garth, Hitchin from its junction with Wymondley Road north eastwards for its entire length.

The Order will come into effect from 15 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF YORK ROAD AND LANCASTER AVENUE, HITCHIN) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-
1. that length of York Road, Hitchin from its junction with Bearton Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 140m.
An alternative route will be via Bearton Road, Ickleford Road, A505 Bunyan Road, Bunyan Road and York Road.
2. that length of Lancaster Avenue, Hitchin from its junction with York Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.
An alternative route will be via York Road, Bunyan Road, A505 Fishponds Road, Bearton Avenue and Lancaster Avenue.
The Order is needed because gas main works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 15 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 21 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON SILAM ROAD AND THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NOS.26-30 SILAM ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following length of road (“the Road”) and footpath (“the Footpath”) will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using length of Silam Road, Stevenage from its junction with Cuttys Lane north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with A1155 Fairlands Way, a distance of approximately 426m, except for access.
An alternative route will be via Cuttys Lane, A1155 St Georges Way and A1155 Fairlands Way.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.
2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath fronting Nos.26-30 Silam Road, Stevenage from its junction with Garden Walk north westwards to its junction with Silam Road, a distance of approximately 33m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Garden Walk and the footway situated on the east side of Silam Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footpath.
The Order will come into effect on 15 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON HIGH STREET, WALKERN) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Street, Walkern from its junction with B1037 Stevenage Road south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Benington Road, a distance of approximately 586m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B1037 (Stevenage Road/Fairlands Way), A1155 (Fairlands Way/St Georges Way), A602 (Monkswood Way/Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross), High Street, Walkern Road and Benington Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 1 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WATERDELL LANE, ST IPPOLYTS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Waterdell Lane, St Ippolyts from a point in line with the north eastern boundary of No.53 Waterdell Lane south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 86m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Waterdell Lane, B656 London Road, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, High Street and Waterdell Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 1 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 12 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-
1. that length of Bearton Road, Hitchin from its junction with Ickleford Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 175m.

An alternative route will be via School Lane, Hitchwood Lane, B651 Whitwell Road, B656 London Road, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road, High Street and Preston Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B197 Monkswood Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Broadhall Way/A602 Monkswood Way roundabout south westwards to its junction with the B197 London Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 316m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A602 (Monkswood Way/Six Hills Way) and B197 London Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Priors Hill, Pirton from its junction with Shillington Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 55m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Shillington Road, West Lane, Royal Oak Lane, Walnut Tree Road, Hitchin Road and Priors Hill.
The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 3 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
