This Order which previously came into operation on 19 December 2025 will now recommence on 05 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night.

R) Canterbury Street, Chippenham; from its junction with Audley Road to its junction with Woodlands Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, road marking replacement & ironwork adjustment works and other associated works.

This Order which previously came into operation on 22 January 2026 will now recommence on 02 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 until 05 June 2026.

Phase 2a: King Henry Drive (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with A4 for a distance of approximately 33m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works and other associated works.
Alternative route phase 1/2 via A4 (unaffected length) – A342 – A3102 – Sandridge Common – Eastern Way – Spa Road – Western Way – A350 – Hampton Park West – Semington Road – A350 – Bath Road – Rowden Hill – Bath Road – Bridge Roundabout – Avenue La Fleche – A4 (unaffected length) and vice versa.
No alternative route for phase 2a.

Please note only one phase of works will be in effect at any given time. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.

The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

SECTION 16A OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all vehicular traffic:
High Street (Part), Chippenham; from a point level with the traffic gate barrier to its junction with Market Place.
These temporary traffic measures are required to safeguard members of the public and competitors whilst enabling the Chippenham “Longest Day 10K” Event to take place.
This Order will come into operation on Wednesday 24th June 2026 with the exception of vehicles officially involved in the marathon, vehicles being used for ambulance, police or fire brigade purposes, or the purpose of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, or with permission being given by a Police Constable in uniform or a Community Safety (CSAS) accredited marshal.
The closure is anticipated to commence at 19.30 and finish at 21.30.

C) Footpath 7 (Part), Urchfont; from its junction with Peppercombe Close to its junction with Footpath 16, Urchfont.
D) Footpath 15 (Part), Urchfont; from its junction with Footpath 7, Urchfont to its junction with Footpath 1, Urchfont.
E) Footpath 16, Urchfont; from its junction with Footpath 46, Urchfont to its junction with Footpath 7, Urchfont to enable the closures are necessary to facilitate upgrades within Urchfont Water Recycling Centre (WRC) and for Wessex Water to carry out its responsibilities as a statutory undertaker.
The works will involve erecting a pole for overhead cables and installing a Mains Distribution Panel. A temporary compound will be needed adjoining the
works. For the purposes of ensuring public safety, Wessex Water deems it necessary to close the public rights of way listed above to prevent risk of harm or injury to members of the public from construction traffic and vehicles travelling to the site or from the compound to the WRC.
Alternative route via Footpath 46, Urchfont – Footpath 8, Urchfont – Footpath 1, Urchfont – Footpath 6, Urchfont – Footpath 5, Urchfont – Peppercombe Lane and vice versa.
This Order will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 30 November 2026.
Closures B) and E) will be required 24 hours a day. Closures C) and D) will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:30 Monday to Friday.

This Order will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 19 June 2026.

H) Bridleway 22 (Part), Sutton Benger; from its junction with Bridleway 33, Langley Burrell Without for a distance of approximately 170m in a north westerly direction to enable Bridleway closed due to an unsafe bridge.
The closure is necessary to ensure public safety and will remain in place until the bridge can be fully replaced and the bridleway reinstated for safe use.

CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT NO.6) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that on 20 May 2026 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act of 1984”) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to amend the following restrictions in the Calne and Calne Without Consolidation Order 2021 by revoking Map Schedule No DB54 dated 14/06/2021 and replacing it by the insertion of Map Schedule No DB54 dated 01/06/2026 the effect of which will be to introduce Loading only 30 mins No return within 1 hour on the west side of Curzon Street/The Strand/New Road – from a point 14 metres south of its junction with Cox Hill for a distance of approximately 21 metres in a southerly direction (the layby outside of Calne Town Hall).
As part of this project the existing bus stop clearway in the layby outside of Calne Town Hall will be removed and a new bus stop clearway will be installed on the west side of Curzon Street/The Strand/New Road in the layby outside of The Lansdowne Hotel, from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Cox Hill for a distance of approximately 36 metres in a northerly direction.
A copy of the Order and plan may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours.
