Temporary Closure of Wanchard Lane, Charminster
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along WANCHARD LANE, CHARMINSTER between its junction with the A352 and the Dorset Council Depot access, a distance of approximately 235 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 June 2026
This Order will enable Wessex Water Services, safe access to provide new connection.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; A352 - Drakes Lane - Wanchard Lane

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath S2/12 & S2/13, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1 June 2026 for a period of 26 weeks. All pedestrians and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath S2/12, between grid reference SY 69110 91138 to grid reference SY 69072 91016, a distance of approximately 130 metres. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath S2/13 between grid reference SY 69080 91034 to grid reference SY 69546 90779, a distance of approximately 570 metres.
The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on the 1 June 2026 until 17 July 2026.
This Order is required to allow Wessex Water to reline the public sewer.
Access to the allotments only will be available via the bridge at the bottom of Friary Hill.
On this occasion there will be no suitable alternative.

Temporary Closure of Great Head Lane, Batcombe
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along GREAT HEAD LANE, BATCOMBE, between its junction with Stile Way and a point approximately 40 metres north west. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 June 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out repair works to single span brick arch and replacement of masonry arch.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along St Thomas Road, Dorchester for its entirety. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 June 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.
The effect of the Order will be:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on St Thomas Road for its entirety
[2] To impose temporary clearway on St Thomas Road for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works
Any vehicle in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been towed the owner will need to contact our towing contractors Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 July 2026
This Order will enable WESSEX WATER SERVICES LIMITED, safe access to install new water main in carriageway.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Nottington Lane - B3157 - East Street - School Hill - Coldharbour - Harbour Hill - Nottington Lane
