What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Parish of Broadwindsor
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, PARISH OF BROADWINDSOR; B3162, GREENHAM LANE, between its junction with Burstock Lane and its junction with B3165, a distance of approximately 1690 metres. These works are programmed to commence from 01 June 2026 until 05 June 2026.
WOOD LANE, between its junction with B3165 and a point approximately 665 metres east. These works are programmed to commence from 08 June 2026 until 12 June 2026.
The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 12 June 2026.
This Order will enable Wessex Internet to carry out fibre cable installation.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Park Lane, Forde Abbey
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along PARK LANE, FORDE ABBEY, at either side of the bridge, a distance of approximately 35 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 03 July 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out invert repairs, masonry repairs and embankment repairs.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 01 July 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface treatment works.
The effect of the Order is as follows:
[1] To impose a temporary road closure on GASSONS LANE, in its entirety.
[2] To impose a parking suspension and clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along GASSONS LANE, in its entirety.
[3] To impose a temporary road closure on CARDS MILL LANE, in its entirety.
[4] To impose a parking suspension and clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along CARDS MILL LANE, in its entirety.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
