WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL

UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING

(BURGHFIELD FOOTPATH 8, BURGHFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS, CYCLISTS AND EQUESTRIANS) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any use of the following footpath, namely Burghfield Footpath 8, Burghfield, between its junction with Reading Road and its junction with James Lane.

There is no alternative route for pedestrians, cyclists, equestrians and vehicles affected by this order.

The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the footpath, namely for Wentworth Moling Services to install 2x new water supply pipes in the footpath.

The proposed Order will come into effect on 1st June 2026 it is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 1st and 10th June 2026. The Order shall remain in force for a period of six months or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected.
