What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Cranborne

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All highway users including vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Cranborne as listed: [i] Mill Lane, Cranborne as indicated by signage on site, [ii] Access to Mill Farm, Cranborne as indicated by signage on site. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to impose a temporary road closure for highway safety reasons.

Temporary Traffic Management Order, Various Roads, Woodlands

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22nd June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29th June 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary road closure on Church Hill, Woodlands; Horton Road, Woodlands and Unnamed Lane, Woodlands as indicated by signs on site.

[ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Church Hill, Woodlands; Horton Road, Woodlands and Unnamed Lane, Woodlands.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Dorset Council (Add a footpath from A348 Ringwood Road to Footpath 50, Ferndown) Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2026

The above Order, made on 12th May 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them:

Footpath 59, Ferndown:

From the A348 Ringwood Road, Ferndown at SZ 06509786 west along a stone surfaced track to a 5-bar metal gate at SZ 06499786, continuing along a stone surfaced track where the route narrows at SZ 06429785 and continues west along a grass surfaced track to join Footpath 50 at SZ 06409784. The width varies from 4.5 metres at SZ 06509786 to SZ 06499786, continuing at 4.5 metres where it narrows to 2.5 metres at SZ 06429785 and continuing at this width to SZ 06409784 where the route meets Footpath 50.

A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal office hours. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Sue Phillips, Technical Officer, Definitive Map Team, Spatial Planning, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ (Ref: RW/T794), or via email to susan.phillips@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk not later than 9th July 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs may itself confirm the Order.

If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
