(Temporary Footway Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following length of footway. A 185 metre length of associated footway of C10a Pont Lane that extends north westerly from No. 20 Pont Road, Leadgate to enable new development footway works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the south eastern side of the closure, south westerly along Tyne Avenue, north westerly along New Watling Street, then north easterly along the road leading to Pont Lane, to the north western side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on Monday 15/6/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 2 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
