(Temporary 30mph Speed Limit)

Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that on the 22nd day of May 2026 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 14th day of May 2026, to introduce a temporary 30mph Speed Limit as specified in the Schedule below. This Order will come into operation on the 28th day of May 2026 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 1st day of June 2026 to the 24th day of July 2026 (between 0000 hours and 2359 hours) to enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas main replacement works. The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles. A38 Perry Elm Roundabout, Wellington - For its entire length

A38 Exeter Road, Wellington - From its junction with the A38 Perry Elm Roundabout in a westerly direction for a distance of 300 metres

A38 Wellington Relief Road, Wellington - From its junction with the A38 Perry Elm Roundabout in a south easterly direction for a distance of 300 metres

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road

or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
