(BARNSLEY ROAD, HEMSWORTH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 162) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection fuse upgrade on behalf of Northern Powergrid to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Barnsley Road, Hemsworth one way for approximately
50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Barnsley Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barnsley Road,
Market Street, Kirkby Road, Hemsworth Road, Hemsworth Bypass, Barewell Hill, Barnsley Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st June 2026 to 3rd June 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(ACKTON LANE, NORTH FEATHERSTONE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 179) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for telecoms civils work to be carried out as follows:ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Ackton Lane, North
Featherstone for approximately 125 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Ackton Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Sewerbridge Lane, Havertop Lane, A6539, B6421
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 17th June 2026 to 18th June 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 183) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for repair of a collapsed wall to be carried out on or near Footpath 15, South View, Featherstone, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.
Alternative route for pedestrians:
The order comes into operation on 4th June 2026 to 22nd October 2026.
