What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (BEETHAM ROAD AND MAIN STREET, MILNTHORPE) (TEMPORARY NO RIGHT AND LEFT TURN RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle, which is travelling in a:-

Westerly direction along Main Street (B6385), from making a left turn onto Beetham Road (A6); and

Northerly direction along Beetham Road (A6), from making a right turn onto Main Street (B6385).

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for northbound and westbound vehicles will be signed and available via Church Street (A6), Princes Way, A590.

The Order will come into operation on 18th June and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 7 nights during the hours of 18:00 and 23:00 ONLY and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
