PROPOSAL TO EXTEND THE PEDESTRIAN ZONE IN LOWER MARSH TO INCLUDE 9AM TO 9PM SATURDAY
[This notice is about extending the current pedestrian zone in Lower Marsh to include the hours of 9.00a.m. to 9.00 p.m. Saturday.]
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth has, on 26 May 2026, made The Lambeth (Moving Traffic Restrictions) (Amendment No. 16) Order 2026 under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to extend the hours of the current Monday to Friday prohibition on vehicles entering or proceeding in those sections of Lower Marsh that lie between a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 80/81 and 82 Lower Marsh and the north-eastern kerb-lines of Launcelot Street and Frazier Street, and between the south-western kerb-line of Launcelot Street and Frazier Street and a point opposite the north-eastern wall of No. 140 Lower Marsh, to include Saturdays, between the hours of 9.00a.m. and 9.00p.m.
3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 8 June 2026, of a map of the relevant area and of the relevant Order of 2024 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays). 5. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
