What is happening?
This Order is required to enable SES Water to facilitate a new service connection and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 24 June 2026 for 3 days between the hours of 8.00am and 4.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents will be maintained either side of but not through the works site. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D1169 Taynton Drive, Merstham, which extends from the western extent of the northern pedestrian access to Merstham Park School to the property boundary between the school and No. 2 Taynton Drive. Alternative Route – Taynton Drive, Sunstone Grove, Worsted Green, Bletchingley Road, Weldon Way, Sutton Gardens and Taynton Drive. Alternative Route – D67 Harpers Road and A323 Guildford Road.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate construction of a raised crossing and/or associated improvement works as soon as possible within the 18 month period of this Order which will commence on 15 June 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for and emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of this Notice and (b) impose a 30mph speed limit in that length of the northbound carriageway of A24 By-Pass Road, Leatherhead which extends from its junction with B2033 Reigate Rooad to its junction with A243 By-Pass Road.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 11 June 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and speed limit will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Alternative Route 3 HGV traffic from Knoll roundabout (avoids height restrictions in Leatherhead) – A24 ByPass Road, A246 Young Street, A246 Guildford Road, A246 Epsom Road, A25 Epsom Road, A247 The Street, A247 Clandon Road, B2215 Portsmouth Road, B2215 High Street, B2215 Portsmouth Road, B2039 Portsmouth Road, A3 northbound to M25 Junction 10;
Alternative Roue 4 – Continue on A3 northbound using alternative route 3 and follow alternative route 1. For part (b): it is anticipated that the temporary speed limit will be in force 24 hours per day. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

2. that length of A243 By-Pass Road, Leatherhead which extends from its junction with A24 By-Pass Road to its junction with A243 By-Pass Road;
