NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County Council of Durham intend to exercise their powers given by Section 7(3) of the Durham City Council Act 1985 to close so much of Footpath 48 as lies between the Baths Bridge and Durham Amateur Rowing Club on the banks of the River Wear from Friday 12th of June 2026 to Monday 15th June 2026 to enable the Durham Regatta to be held on 14th & 15th June 2026. During the said days of such closure the Committee of the Durham Regatta or any person or persons so authorised by that Committee may demand for the admission to the said closed parts of the banks of the River Wear, the following charges per day: Adults £5.00, Children (aged 5 to16 years) & Senior Citizens (aged 65 years and over) £3.00 and Children (aged under 5 years) & Disabled Persons Free of Charge. For clarification Footpath 48 between Footpath 47 (East of Baths Bridge) and Durham Amateur Rowing club has been closed under the Town and Police Clauses Act 1847 for which a separate Order was made by the County Council of Durham on 27/5/26.
