Cambridgeshire - Multiple Temporary Prohibitions of Through Traffic due to Highway and Maintenance Works

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Centre Road, Soham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20172

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Centre Road, Soham as lies between Military Road & Fordham Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via Military Rd; Fordham Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gully cleaning & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 2/6 & 3/6/26.

Barway Road, Soham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20366

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Barway Road, Soham as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 2/6/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 1/12/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 22:15hrs 2/6 & 05:45hrs 3/6/26.

Newmarket Road A1123, Stretham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20367

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Newmarket Road A1123, Stretham as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1123; A10; A142; A1123 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11/6/26 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10/12/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 01:00hrs 11/6 and 05:00 12/6/26.

Station Road, Littleport Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20369

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road, Littleport as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The alternative route for vehicles is via Station Rd; Wellington St C315; Wellington St; Wisbech Rd; Wisbech Rd C319; A10; Lynn Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 30/6/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 29/12/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 22:30hrs 30/6 to 05:00hrs 2/7/26.

Clay Street, Soham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20437

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Clay Street, Soham as lies between St Andrews Park & Ennion Close. The alternative route for vehicles is via Clay St; Mereside; Station Rd; Fountain Ln; Churrogate St; High St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate cabling & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it is anticipated that these works will be carried out on 22/6/26.

Chapel Lane, Wicken Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20439

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Chapel Lane, Wicken as lies between Lower Road & Drury Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via Chapel Ln: Drury Ln; Pond Green; A1123 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sewer connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8/6 & 11/6/26.

Lark Bank & Mile End Road, Prickwillow Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20472

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Lark Bank & Mile End Road, Prickwillow as lies between Mile End Road & Duck Drove; Branch Bank & level crossing respectively. The alternative route for vehicles is via (Mile End Road B1382; A1101; New River Bank, Littleport; Branch Bank; Padnal Bank, Queen Adelaide & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway reconstruction & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1/6 & 19/6/26.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
