Cumbria - Temporary Road Closure Due To Bridge Parapet Repair Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2212 ACCESS ROAD TO KIRKGATE FARM, LOWESWATER) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge parapet repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U2212, Access road to Kirkgate Farm, Loweswater, from a point adjacent to the Kirkstile Inn, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 60m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 16 June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 9 days, between 0830 and 1530 hours, each day and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
