What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Church Road, Vange) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Vange in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 40m north west of its junction with Osborne Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th June 2026 for 1 night (23:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL701FSS2-24-77-170626 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while retaining wall inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, A1321, Southernmay, Clay Hill Road, Church Road (northbound) or Church Road, Clay Hill Road, Timberlog Lane, A1321, Church Road (southbound).

The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dorset Way, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dorset Way, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Montague Way for a distance of approximately 140m in a north easterly direction. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Whitelands Close, Wickford in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 15m east of its junction with Harold Gardens for a distance of approximately 20m in an easterly direction to its end. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hawkwell Park Drive, Hawkwell in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Main Road to its junction with Park Gardens, a distance of approximately 40m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30067405632 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while permanent reinstatement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

(Morris Avenue, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Morris Avenue, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Warner Close to its junction with Outwood Common Road a distance of approximately 80m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2400486 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Outwood Common Road, Greenway, Morris Avenue and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
