TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(KEYWORTH FOOTPATH NO.3) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Keyworth Footpath No.3 (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2025 (which came into force on 1st December 2025 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order until 31st May 2026 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 31st May 2027 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot, in the following length of Footpath at Keyworth in the Borough of Rushcliffe :-
Keyworth Footpath No.3, from its starting point at the junction with Bridleway 5 and 7 at Keyworth, to the parish boundary with Wysall.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no direct alternative route available on public rights of way, and any road alternatives should be used with caution.
A possible alternative is shown on the plan.
If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety due to the footbridges on the path being in a damaged and dangerous condition, and to enable repair and replacement as necessary.
