What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MIDDLE STREET AND AREA, BEESTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2026 (BX26-116)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Beeston in the Borough of Broxtowe.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of roads as listed in paragraph 3

2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (Both Sides) (at any time) in the following length of roads as listed in paragraph 3.

3. High Road, Chilwell - From its junction with Bridge Avenue to its junction with Chilwell Road. 

Chilwell Road, Chilwell - From its junction with High Road for its full length.

Styring Street, Beeston - From its junction with Middle Street for its full length.

Middle Street, Beeston - From its junction with Chilwell Road to its junction with Station Road.

4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above
road or roads will apply as follows:
From 01:30 hours on Monday 8th June 2026
Until 05:00 hours on Saturday 13th June 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: B6006 Station Road - A6005 Queens Road West - Meadow Lane - High Road and Vice versa

The Order will come into force on 8th June 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable VIA East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out lining works.
