Notice of making Temporary Traffic Restriction Order in the Birkenhead Area 2026
Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council have made the above order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers to enable proposed works to be executed on or near the roads specified in the proposed order (having already advertised notice of intent).
The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.
Chestnut Grove (Temporary Road Closure) Birkenhead Order 2026
The effect of this order will be to close Chestnut Grove, Birkenhead from a point 20 metres from its junction with Derby Road for its full extent to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.
Alternative Route: Resident access only.
Maximum Duration of the order: From 01 June 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19 June 2026.

Notice of making Temporary Traffic Restriction Order in the BROMBOROUGH Area 2026
Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council have made the above order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers to enable proposed works to be executed on or near the roads specified in the proposed order (having already advertised notice of intent).
The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.
Riverwood Road (Temporary Road Closure) Bromborough Order 2026
The effect of this order will be to close Riverwood Road, Bromborough at its junction with and including Power Road to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.
Alternative Route: Old Hall Road, Plantation Road, Riverview Road.
Maximum Duration of the order: From 01 June 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 June 2026.

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers to enable works on or near the roads specified in the proposed order to take place.
The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.
Victoria Road (Temporary Road Closure) Birkenhead Order 2026
The effect of this order will be to close Victoria Road, Birkenhead at its junction with Derby Road to its junction with Dingle Road to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.
Alternative Route: Derby Road, Elmswood Road, Borough Road.
Maximum Duration of the order: From 15 June 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 July 2026.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 16A
PORT SUNLIGHT 5K/10K RACE SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2026
Whereas Wirral Borough Council are satisfied that the use of the roads listed below should be restricted to facilitate the above event and to enable it to take place safely.
NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of its powers under s16A of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers having satisfied itself that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be held without being on this road intends to make an Order in the following terms:
No person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed along the length of roads listed below:
- Queen Mary’s Drive for its entire length
- Lower Road for its entire length
- King George’s Drive for its entire length
- The Causeway for its entire length (access to Port Sunlight Garden Centre to be maintained)
- Church Drive for its entire length (access to The Bridge Inn to be maintained)
- Windy Bank for its entire length
- Primrose Hill for its entire length
- Central Road for its entire length
- Walker Street for its entire length
- Pool Bank for its entire length
- Jubilee Crescent for its entire length
- Bath Street for its entire length
- Riverside from its junction with Bath Street to its junction with Poets Corner
- Park Road for its entire length
- Bridge Street for its entire length
- Cross Street for its entire length
- King Edwards Drive from its junction with Church Drive to its junction with Victoria Street
- Bolton Road from its junction with Riverside to its junction with Greendale Road
- Corniche Road from its junction with Pool Bank to its junction with Walker Street
- Walker Street for its entire length
- Circular Drive from its junction with Pool Bank to Primrose Hill
- Poets Corner for its entire length
- Brook Street for its entire length
- Osbourne Court for its entire length
- Greendale Road from its junction with Bebington Road to its junction with Ellens Lane (access to Port Sunlight Garden Centre to be maintained)
All junctions adjoining the above roads will be temporarily closed along the route where necessary.
Alternative routes for diverted vehicular traffic will be signed accordingly.
The Order will not prevent reasonable access at any time for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates nor any premises accessible only to pedestrians from such a road.
This Order will be known as the Wirral Borough Council Port Sunlight 5k/10k Race Special Event Order 2026 and shall come into operation from 8:00am until 15:00pm Sunday 7 June 2026.
