TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary One Way Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC 149919440 : The City of Manchester (Charles Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Charles Street One Way from Sackville Street to Princess Street (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Princess Street, Brook Street, Mancunian Way, Sackville Street & Princess Street, Whitworth Street, Sackville Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate demolition works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 1st June 2026 to 21st October 2026. The Order shall come into operation on 1st June 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
