What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL(MILLENNIUM WAY, RAINWORTH & MILLENNIUM WAY, MANSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (N26-167)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Rainworth & Mansfield in the District Newark & Sherwood and Mansfield
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Millenium Way, Rainworth - (West bound) From its junction with Kirklington Road and its junction with Rufford Colloery Lane.
b. Millenium Way, Mainsfield - (West bound) From its junction with Rufford Colloery Lane and its junction with Southwell Road East.
No vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour in the following length of road:
a. Millennium Way, Manfield - (East bound)- From its junction with Southwell Road West to its junction with Rufford Colliery Way
b. Millennium Way, Rainworth - (East bound)- From its junction with to its junction with Kirklington Road
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 20:00 hours, Monday 8th June 2026 Until 06:00 hours, Monday 6th July 2026 inclusive/Nightly AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: A617 Millennium Way - B6020 Southwell Road East - B6020 Kirklington Road and vice versa
The Order will come into force on Monday 8th June 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Carriageway Resurfacing Works.
